The Zeiss Clarus 500 is Zeiss's ultra-widefield true-color fundus camera, configured here with the fluorescein angiography (FA) module for retinal vascular imaging alongside high-resolution color photography. It captures a 133-degree single-frame field with montage extending toward 200 degrees, delivering color fidelity that scanning-laser systems cannot match. This refurbished unit is fully tested, optically aligned, and calibration-verified with a 6-month warranty.

Why Practices Choose the Zeiss Clarus 500 FA
Ultra-widefield in one shot: a single 133-degree capture covers the posterior pole and far periphery, and automated montage stretches coverage to about 200 degrees.
True color, not pseudo-color: broadband-LED illumination renders real tissue color with none of the red-free or scanning-laser artifacts that distort subtle lesions.
Fluorescein angiography built in: widefield dynamic FA maps leakage, neovascularization, and peripheral ischemia across the whole retina.
Non-mydriatic and non-contact: images through a 3.3 mm pupil with no lens or applanation, so most patients need no dilation and clinic flow stays quick.
Lower entry point than the 700: the same Clarus widefield platform and FA capability at a markedly lower price than the Clarus 700.
Clinical Applications
Diabetic retinopathy: widefield FA exposes peripheral nonperfusion that 45-60 degree cameras miss, supporting earlier treatment decisions.
Retinal vascular disease: FA documents occlusions, leakage, and ischemic zones across the periphery for planning and follow-up.
General retinal documentation: true-color widefield photography for referral, baseline, and longitudinal comparison.
