GTS Medical Systems is an equipment reseller serving primarily end-user surgery centers, small hospitals, doctors' offices and a variety of overseas customers. Specializing in patient monitoring, defibrillators, EKGs, ESUs and other medical equipment, the company is growing quickly to meet the needs of an expanding market. With its emphasis on best-value solutions and excellent customer support, the company has earned praise from its diverse customer base. From its humble beginnings in the late 1990s, GTS (for Global Technical Solutions) has grown steadily and now sells throughout the U.S. and abroad.

The company's growth is largely due to a focus on customer needs and the company's core value of providing best-value solutions. "I really care about my customers, I am very thorough," said Craig Pelissier
, who founded the Huntington Beach, Calif. company in 1999. "I go to great lengths to communicate with my customers, to find out what their needs are and to make sure they're getting exactly what they want."
One reason why GTS is able to keep its prices low and service high is the constant attention to keeping down overhead, as well as strategic relationships with suppliers and other equipment dealers. "I have strategic relationships with companies that buy wholesale from hospitals and I also buy directly from hospitals," Pelissier said. "We also provide technical support and in-service training as well as being available at all hours for questions. We love our customers and take pride that our staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful."
The company's location close to the Los Angeles Harbor and LAX airports makes exporting-about half their business--quick and cost-effective. Markets include the Middle East, South America, Asia and Europe.
Pelissier brings to the business a proven background in engineering, management and medical sales with several medical and aerospace companies including Spacelabs Medical and Boeing. While at Boeing, he was responsible for avionics and medical equipment installations on military aircraft. His experience in aerospace has proven relevant to his work in the medical equipment field. "Aviation, like medicine, is a very serious business that has no room for mistakes. We do it right the first time, the customer is happy, and life goes on," he said.
Meanwhile, GTS Medical Systems continues to grow. It plans to expand its relationship with OEM manufacturers to offer additional products to customers. "I believe that a partnership with GTS Medical will allow a small- to medium-sized manufacturer the ability to reduce overhead associated with a traditional sales force in the West thus freeing up resources, which can be allocated to other business activities," Pelissier explained. "I believe that we can help provide a cost-effective edge in this highly competitive marketplace."Back to HCB News
