Charles Pia
The DOTmed family was just informed about the passing of Charles Pia, one of our site's original users.

Way back in 1999 when DOTmed started, Charles was one of the first 2,000 users to ever register on our site. His wife Shirley still keeps a DOTmed WebStore with over 150 items posted and will be continuing to run the family business, Champia Medical Consultants.

Our thoughts go our to Shirley and the Pia family.

Here is his obituary, originally published in the Citrus County Chronicle:

Charles M. Pia, 84, of Homosassa, FL passed away at HPH Hospice in Lecanto on July 26, 2016 with his wife at his side. Native of Tampa, graduate of Hillsborough High School and University of Tama, Charles served in the Army Medical Corps during the Korean War. He owned Medical Supply companies in Seminole and St. Petersburg, FL. His love of the outdoors gave him many years of pleasure in boating and fishing. He and his wife fished the Suncoast Tarpon Tournament in the 70's and brought home many prizes and trophies. Charles was named winner of the Earl Gresh Memorial Sportsmanship Award for years of unselfishly helping other fisherman catch tarpon. He will sadly be missed by his wife of 63 years, who loved and shared these years to the fullest; they were inseparable. He is survived by his wife Shirley, sister-in-law Dolores and husband Don Cawthon, brother-in-law Clifford and wife Sherry Bell, sister-in-law Ocy Pia and many nieces and nephews. Private cremation is under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto, FL.
