GENEVA , Nov. 2 — Carestream’s new Touch Prime and Touch Prime XE Ultrasound Systems will be on display on the company’s booth (stand number 5) at this year’s British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) meeting to be held in York, UK during December. These represent a generation leap in design, technology and user experience.
Developed using recommendations from sonographers and ultrasound professionals from around the world, the new units offer a sealed, all-touch control panel that combines the speed and flexibility of a soft user interface with the tactile feedback of traditional keys. This is both easy to clean and comfortable to use.
Enhanced diagnostic confidence is a key advantage of Carestream’s new technology. The top-of-the-line CARESTREAM Touch Prime XE uses Touch Prime SynTek Architecture and Smart System Control to provide excellent resolution, while simultaneously optimising image formation to reduce noise and artefacts. The resulting imaging improvements allow for more consistent visualisation of subtle tissue contrast differences and the ability to see smaller structures. The Touch Prime XE is capable of frame rates in excess of 100Hz, while maintaining improved imaging detail. This preserves image quality when Color Doppler is active and even provides real-time frame rates in Triplex mode.

The new systems are also extremely fast, with a boot time of around 20 seconds. The log-on process is swift and secure, with ‘Swipe-and-Go’ RFID access available for up to 200 user profiles, each able to customise the system. One press of the ‘One Touch Smart-Select’ button and the transducer then immediately activates, with the user’s preferred settings already loaded.
