Kevin CargillGaithersburg, MD – Adventist HealthCare (AHC) has named Kevin Cargill as the health system’s new Chief Financial Officer. Cargill most recently served as the CFO for two of Adventist HealthCare’s acute-care hospitals, Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center and Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center. Cargill replaces previous CFO Kristen Pulio, who transitioned to a Florida health system in September.
Cargill has more than 20 years of financial management experience in the healthcare industry, leading initiatives to optimize performance, reduce costs and expand patient access. Cargill was instrumental in the ongoing success of White Oak Medical Center, including its current eighth-floor expansion and medical pavilion construction, shortly after the hospital transitioned from serving for more than a century in Takoma Park as Washington Adventist Hospital. He has been a key partner in helping improve patient experience by reducing Emergency Department wait times and developing improved processes to help patients return home more smoothly.
"Kevin’s commitment to excellence can be seen in his history of improving operational efficiency and strengthening our financial ability to offer our comprehensive spectrum of care," said John Sackett, Adventist HealthCare President and CEO. "His dedication to supporting the community’s total well-being informs his capital management and strategic planning to ensure Adventist HealthCare will continue to be the most trusted source of healthcare for our community."
Adventist HealthCare includes three acute care hospitals, two rehabilitation hospitals and two community cancer centers along with a full range of Imaging and Home Care services. Additionally, the Adventist HealthCare Physician Alliance is a clinically integrated network of more than 2,200 healthcare providers who work together to improve both the quality of care and patient outcomes throughout the region.
"I am honored to be selected and look forward to increasing our ability to extend healing to our region" said Cargill. "By ensuring the financial strength of Adventist HealthCare, our caregivers will be able to continue to serve with compassion and promote the best outcomes for our patients for the next 100 years."
Before joining AHC, Kevin served in several roles with Community Health Systems, both at hospitals in Virginia and Georgia and then as the Director of Finance overseeing 40 hospitals across several states. Kevin earned his MBA in corporate finance at the University of Dallas and is an American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow and a Certified Public Accountant.
