Hi all,
We have a Kodak/Carestream CS9500 and our acquisition computer recently experienced a boot disk failure. Due to Windows 7 being at end of life, we decided to set up a fresh Windows 10 installation and go from there. I got that done and got on the line with CS Software Support to get our CS Orthodontic Imaging set back up, which they did. I was then transferred to Hardware Support to finish installing the link to the 9500. I was then told that CS does not support this machine on Windows 10. After that call, I had to go back and set the PC up all over again with Win7 and then I was able to have the software and hardware installations finalized. It is all back up and working fine.
My problem now is that we don't appear to have an upgrade path past Win7. I know the CS9500 has been discontinued for some time and I understand CS's decision not to support it in Win10, especially since Win10 does seem to break the hardware installation, but I am a little put off that the only recourse to satisfy HIPAA on the OS is to buy a different 3D xray machine.
Does anyone have any suggestions for making this machine work on Win10? One of the CS hardware support techs I spoke with did say he had seen it work in some installations and also seen it not work. He couldn't officially support my installation nor could he tell me how it had been made to work in those working installations. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Adding more info about the problem: the hardware all still works perfectly fine with Win7. The imaging software also works perfectly fine in Win7 and in Win10. The part that seems not to work on Win10 is the hardware drivers that enable communication with the 9500 via the NIC - the TFTP utility.
When I tested doing an in-place upgrade of the working Win7 installation to Win10, everything worked perfectly except the communication with the 9500 was lost. I’m sure that if those drivers could be modified to work, Windows 10 can be used with this machine.
