GE Vivid E Failed Hard Drive & Full System Reload
September 13, 2019 10:43
I'm working on replacing a failed hard drive in GE Vivid E machine. Please advise on 2 topics....
1. Can I use an SSD Drive in this old machine and avoid old and slow hard drives?
2. Where do I get a CD or USB to reload the system and a software? I believe it came with XP originally.
Thank You in advance.

About Vivid E.
There are two types of hard drives:
1.2.5 IDE which connected by adaptor;
2. SATA, which connected directly.
Better to know about year of manufacturing and software version.
For example 6.x.x software - with SATA,
4.x.x - with IDE.
Also 6.x., with more modern single board computer, 4.x.x software with old single board computer.
Install ssd on this machines little bit useless, here inside Windows XP (software runs on IDE compability mode) and profit of installation SSD will be minor.
Installation media - consist windows , and all drivers, software.
With best regards
