Service Repair on Datex Cardiocap/5

June 19, 2018 02:47

Need repair information on the Datex Cardiocap/5 monitor. The unit powers up, but will not display any parameters, only bars on the bottom. Checked with the manufacturer and they were no help, only stating to send in the unit for factory repair. I have seen this on a number of monitors. Usually when the time & date are wrong or a display of "SRAM error" I have tried the service codes to install but have had no luck. Please, can anyone advise.....Thank you.

If you are getting the SRAM error - you will need to replaces the CMOS battery, I have bought them through Newark only a few bucks apiece.

Thanks, Ronnie....I replaced the CMOS battery and it did not change anything. I talked to GE Service Support and they told me to go to the Service window and tell the monitor to accept all parameters...this did nothing and all they could tell me was send the unit in for repair. This has happened to me on a number of monitors...even one or two that have never been touched....For all intensive purposes it is working fine, it just does not indicate any ECG, NIBP, SpO2 parameters...its as if none of these parameters are plugged in. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks again for responding. My email is: Dexterity@aol.com

Hi Michael

Have tried a factory reset? Also I may be the cable that attaches to the CPU and the board that sets above the Gas and parameter module.

The factory reset is what GE stated, I tried and their was no change. All the display indicates are bars on the bottom. I can call up any window, but no parameters waveforms are seen on the screen. It almost looks like a software glitch that is not turning on the waveforms. When you go to the screen waveform window all of the waveforms are in the "off" position and there is no "on" position or they will not transfer over to them. It is like the monitor doesn't "see" any parameters connected to the monitor.

Thanks again, Roy.....

I have same issue, exactly. I change the batter and the CPU battery. Any other ideas or anything else worked. Much appreciate any guidance.
