After serving at Lenox Hill Hospital in various management capacities for nearly 10 years, including his most recent position as Vice President of Clinical Services, Gerard Durney has announced his departure from Lenox Hill and his move to Bon Secours Charity Health System, located in Suffern, NY. He will be joining former Lenox Hill executives including, most notably, Terry O'Brien who now serves as CEO for Bon Secours. Durney will serve as the Senior Vice President of Ancillary Services, bringing his more than 30 years of health care experience with him when he starts next week.

Durney began his career in health care in 1977 and stepped into his first management role in 1980. He holds a bachelor's degree from Manhattan College and an MBA in finance from Wagner College. He is also an American Healthcare Radiology Administrators Fellow.

"I've always liked science and technology and I grew up with the desire to help others, so when you put those two things together, health care is a perfect fit," he explained when asked why he chose this career. "Every day, there's a new challenge and new solutions, no two days are the same, so it's always interesting," he added.
