Catastrophic Head and Neck Injuries Featured at Fourth Annual Injuries in Football Conference

The fourth annual Injuries in Football Conference hosted by the Andrews Institute will attract top physicians, physical therapists and other professionals from around the country including members from the National Football League and NCAA. The three-day national conference on football injuries will be held April 2 - 4, 2009 at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach.

Keynote speakers include the following team physicians and head athletic trainers from the NFL and NCAA:

The Injuries in Football conference expects over 150 registered participants from around the globe. The conference will cover a range of topics including the rehabilitation of football injuries, the evaluation and management of head and spinal cord injuries, cardiac concerns and primary care issues. Courses are designed for athletic trainers, biomechanists, physical therapists, sports physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, physiologists, strength and conditioning coaches, certified personal trainers and others who work with athletes in the sport of football.

James R. Andrews, M.D., the renowned orthopaedic surgeon for whom the Institute is named, will open the first session at 1 p.m. on April 2.
