Dear %%FIRSTNAME%% %%LASTNAME%%
It's time to get ready for ECR 2018!
Each year, over 20,000 radiology professionals from around the world convene for the European Congress of Radiology to make connections, discover emerging innovations and explore international business opportunities. This year's meeting is fast approaching, so we’ve scoured the agenda to bring you some of the most notable events and exhibitors to look for at the Austria Center in beautiful Vienna, Feb 28 - March 4.
Have an exhibit hall strategy
Knowing which booths to visit is half the battle. That's why we have compiled our annual list of DOTmed's featured ECR exhibitors and previews of what they will be showcasing (scroll down to see it!). Even if you won't be at the show, everyone in the imaging business should be keeping up with these leading OEMs and ISOs.
There's so much to see in the ECR exhibit hall, so make a list in advance of all the companies you plan to visit, and don't forget to wear comfortable walking shoes.
Dr. Bernd Hamm, ECR president, sets the stage
One of the best ways to get your footing at ECR is to attend the opening ceremony, held Feb 28 at 5:45. Professor Hamm will address attendees on what the European Society of Radiology has accomplished over the last year, what challenges lay on the horizon and some of the most important research and partnerships being discussed at the meeting.
High-impact sessions and presentations
One of the biggest attractions at ECR is the range of speakers who present research findings, trend analysis and insightful commentary at any number of educational sessions. This year there will be 260 educational sessions, 130 scientific sessions, 1,430 scientific paper presentations and over 800 lecturers -- all sharing valuable information poised to impact the future of radiology from a patient standpoint as well as a business standpoint.
Be sure to spend some time on the ECR website browsing these sessions before the show.
A better understanding of interventional radiology in the Cube
New to ECR this year is a dedicated interventional radiology workshop called the Cube, which will provide attendees with limited IR education an opportunity for hands-on experience through a range of engaging activities. With simulated procedures, challenges, quizzes and more, from 8:30 to 5:30 throughout ECR, the Cube promises to help visitors gain a better grasp of this complex and rapidly developing specialty.
Work hard, party hard
By Saturday evening, March 3, you may want to let loose a little and celebrate the conclusion of ECR. Starting at 9:30 the Marx Halle exhibition and concert arena will come alive with music from DJ Ane Dominique Jardin and DJ Tom, with appearances by artists Glennis Grace and Conchita. It's a well-earned opportunity to raise your glass to friends and colleagues, new and old, and another successful ECR in the books.
