The Topcon KR-8000 is a combined autorefractor and keratometer built on Topcon's Rotary Prism Technology, delivering consistent sphere, cylinder, axis, and corneal curvature measurements in a compact platform. It measures through pupils as small as 2.0 mm, staying reliable across miotic, post-surgical, and elderly patients where many autorefractors struggle. An auto-fogging fixation target minimizes accommodation interference, producing objective refraction that closely approximates the final subjective result. A built-in thermal printer and RS-232C output for EMR connectivity let it integrate cleanly into modern workflows.
