i-CHROMA II can be used for screening, control and/or routine physical examinations in centralized laboratories of hospitals, medical clinics. The result is obtained by measuring the intensity of the fluorescent signal of a properly prepared and applied sample to the test cassette. The device calculates the obtained value and displays it as a test result. The device is equipped with a thermal printer.
Principle:
The device is a fluorescent and nanoparticle scanning device for use in conjunction with various i-CHROMA II immunoassays, which are based on antigen-antibody reaction and fluorescence technology. i-CHROMA II uses a semiconductor diode laser as an excitation light source to illuminate the membrane of the test cartridge, thereby triggering fluorescence from fluorochrome molecules present on the membrane. The fluorescent light is collected together with the scattered laser light. Pure fluorescence is filtered from the mixture of scattered and fluorescent light. The fluorescence intensity is scanned and converted into an electrical signal that is proportional to the fluorescence intensity generated on the membrane of the test cartridge. The built-in microprocessor calculates the concentration of the analyte in the clinical sample based on the programmed calibration. The calculated and converted result is displayed on the display screen of the i-CHROMA II. The analyzer's operating instructions in Polish and English are available.
