This Amersham Pharmacia Biotech Fraction Collector is in excellent cosmetic condition and shows little to no signs of wear from previous use. Unforunately, we do not have the proper chromatography system to connect it to and so further testing could not be done. It is guaranteed not to be DOA.This device rackcan hold up to 95 tubes from 10 - 18mm, the racks can also be swapped out for racks of differing sizes. The adjusting delivery arm comes with a built-in tube sensor and the height of the arm bracketis adjustable.
Frac-900is controlled from a PC running UNICORN version 3.0 or higher. It cannot be used as a stand-alone instrument. Control of Frac-900can be achieved automatically from a pre-prepared method, or manually via the functions available in UNICORN.

The Amersham Pharmacia Biotech Frac-900 is an automated fraction collector designed for use in liquid chromatography. It is compatible with KTAdesign chromatography systems and allows the collection of up to 175 fractions. The Frac-900 includes a flow diversion valve (FV-903), which switches fluid flow between waste and collection tubes. It supports three sizes of tube racks for tube diameters of 10-18 mm, 12 mm, and 30 mm. The device can be used in various environments with temperatures ranging from +4 to +40 C and relative humidity between 20-95%. The maximum flow rate is 100 ml/min, with fraction sizes ranging from 0.05 to 100 ml. The Frac-900 is controlled from a PC running UNICORN software version 3.0 or higher and requires a supply voltage of 100-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz.
Condition & Testing
This device is in excellent cosmetic condition and shows little to no signs of wear from use. The tube rack is in a near perfect condition and is able to spin freely over the central spindle. The adjustable delivery arm is able to move left to right and adjust up/down, as well as lock into place. All sockets on the back of the device are without any damage. The delivery arm tubing and the waste tubing are present and without any damage. We do not have the PC software/chromatography system to further test the device, but I believe it to be in a good and working order.
