Features and Benefits
Split-second scanning
The Dual Source technology of SOMATOM Definition Flash enables scanning at Flash speed so that diagnostic images can be acquired on different patients, regardless of their heart rate, breath holding ability or ability to remain still. This eliminates sedation for children, streamlines the procedure for trauma patients and solves the challenges of all complex cardiac cases. With SOMATOM Definition Flash, speed means more confident diagnosis.
Low-dose CT Definition
With Dual Source technology and Stellar Detectors, SOMATOM Definition Flash sets the standard for dose efficiency. CARE Dose4D, CARE kV and SAFIRE1 (Sinogram Affirmed Iterative Reconstruction) form a comprehensive portfolio of high-quality dose reduction.
What is needed, however, is the right dose, i.e. the ideal dose to ensure high image quality.
In this sense, Siemens' efforts are guided by the principle of the lowest possible dose. Only Dual Source technology can make scans fast enough to achieve high image quality at standard dose levels and thus define the correct limit for low dose in scanning. This means: cardiac imaging in sub-mSv, routine triple-rule-outs below two mSv and low-dose pediatric scans with the help of CARE Child.
Dual Source Dual Energy for all patients
With Dual Source Dual Energy technology, each scan produces two sets of data. This not only saves an unenhanced scan, but also improves the quality of routine and specialist examinations with dose similar to conventional 120 kV scans. SOMATOM Definition Flash features the ability to obtain quality images at low kV, reduce dose, assess cardiac and coronary morphology, and visualize quantitative information on the perfusion of blood vessels and organs.
Quantitative Diagnostic Imaging with syngo.via
Regardless of the number of clinical exams or the pathology, syngo.via helps you prepare clinical cases, facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration, and facilitates reliable and fast diagnoses. In the case of cardiovascular CT, it allows you to rule out coronary artery disease in less than a minute. You can immediately start examining coronary vessels, valves, calcium, and functional parameters, to obtain a complete cardiac assessment in less than four minutes. And these are just some of the ways syngo.via can improve and accelerate your daily routine. Based on a client-server architecture, syngo.via supports efficient task sharing and collaboration, with capacity for up to ten users per session.
