This is a 2nd generation Abaxis (now owned by Zoetis) Vetscan HM5 Veterinary Hematology Analyzer. The 2nd generation is the most current HM5 model. This model performs the same testing as the original (white color) HM5 but has an updated design with larger touchscreen and internal components. This system is in excellent condition with only very minor normal wear. Overall, the system has been well cared for.
has a great deal of experience with these analyzers and all analyzers go through our internal processes to make sure there are no problems for the new owner. This includes replacement or cleaning of internal tubing, wash head, and counting chamber, adjusting pneumatic motors and slides, updating software, and self-test diagnostics. We basically give the analyzer a 'tune up' so it is ready for the next user
The sale includes the analyzer, power supply, reagent tubing kit, waste bottle, set of (2) tube adapters, roll of printer paper, and user manual (pdf). No other accessories are required for testing besides the HM5 reagent pack and EDTA (lavender top) blood collection tubes. We also recommend ordering 'normal' hm5 control to perform calibration during setup. All of these consumables can be ordered through Zoetis directly.
Be careful purchasing from other sellers. HM5 analyzers commonly are sold with severe issues, including calcified tubing, valves, and sensors. These are not detectable from a cosmetic appearance only.
