For Sale NIKON Optiphot 2 Microscope

This Nikon Optiphot-2 POL research-grade microscope system was removed from a working research laboratory and is configured for polarized light microscopy with additional epi-fluorescence capability and photomicrography. The Optiphot-2 platform is Nikons higher-end modular research microscope, widely used in materials science, geology, and laboratory environments requiring precision optical analysis.

This system is equipped with a rotating polarizing stage with degree scale, integrated analyzer control (IN / MID / OUT), and a confirmed rotating substage polarizer disk, allowing full polarized light microscopy operation. The microscope is also configured with a Nikon epi-fluorescence attachment and Hg 100W mercury lamp housing system for fluorescence applications, along with a Nikon UFX-DX phototube and FX-35DX camera for image capture.

The optical system includes Nikon CFWN 10x/20 eyepieces and a Nikon Plan 10x / 0.30 objective (polarizing type). The substage assembly includes a Nikon Achromat 0.90 condenser with adjustable aperture and scale. The illumination system consists of a transmitted halogen light source (12V 100W) with brightness control, as well as filter components labeled ND2, ND4, ND16 (neutral density filters), and NCB11 / GIF filters as shown.

Functional Testing & Performance:

The transmitted (bottom) halogen illumination powers on and provides consistent light through the optical path. Focus controls (coarse and fine), mechanical stage movement, rotating stage, condenser adjustments, analyzer control, and all dials operate smoothly and respond correctly. The polarizing system is physically confirmed with rotating stage, analyzer control, and substage polarizer disk.

The Hg 100W fluorescence lamp housing and external power supply are included; however, we do not have the capability to power on or test the fluorescence light source. No functional verification of fluorescence performance has been performed.
