The BladderScan BVI9400, with NeuralHarmonics technology, is a portable ultrasound instrument that provides a noninvasive measurement of urinary bladder volume. The device consists of an ultrasound probe that scans the patients bladder and a compact, batteryoperated console that provides measurementrelated information.

BladderScan instruments are quick and easy to use. When the user presses the Scan button, within seconds the BVI9400 measures ultrasonic reflections on multiple planes inside the body and produces a threedimensional image. Based on this image, the BVI9400 calculates and displays the bladder volume. A sonographer is not required.

NeuralHarmonics technology in the BVI9400 sharpens accuracy and accelerates speed of measurement. Volume measurements made with NeuralHarmonics technology are more accurate than those made with conventional twodimensional ultrasound, as they are based on a more complex, multifaceted image of the bladder. This technologyapplying multispectral analysis to a robust data sethelps reduce margin of error and minimize uncertainty in essential measurements of bladder function.

After a scan has been taken, a unique aiming icon guides the operator to optimal probe placement with a comprehensive, threedimensional display which shows the bladder in two crosssectional images verifying a complete scan has been achieved. Bladder volume, patient type, directional aiming with realtime feedback, battery status, and usage rate indicators are all displayed on the devices main display. The BladderScan BVI9400 contains an onboard thermal printer that allows the user to print exam results quickly with the press of a button.

A calibration system, consisting of a tank and target, allows the user to easily calibrate the device by scanning a known target. ScanPoint with QuickPrint allows the user to calibrate the device and update software through a webbased interface.

The BladderScan BVI9400 system includes a battery charger for the custom, userreplaceable lithiumion battery used in the system. The BladderScan BVI9400 may be mounted on a mobile cart, which holds the instrument securely and provides storage for ultrasound gel and other accessories.

Condition & Testing

Excellent cosmetic and tested working condition. The unit powers on and does come with a battery. We did charge the battery and it is holding a full charge, however these unit does not come with a charger. The screen is clear and easy to read. All of the buttons are working properly. The original probe is working as it should. We confirmed operation using a test subject and it works fine. The internal printer does come with a partial roll of paper and we did test it and it is working properly.Verathon has quit offering calibration software for the probe, however Terrain Biomedical can test for accuracy and turn off the calibration notice on the machine and can still be used successfully.
