Intended use:
The instrument can be used in combination with urine reagent strips for semi-quantitative or qualitative detection of biochemical components in urine samples, which can provide reference for clinical examination and diagnosis. The items that can be detected are Urobilinogen (URO), Bilirubin (BIL), Ketone (KET), Blood (BLD), Protein (PRO), Nitrite (NIT), Leukocyte (LEU), Glucose (GLU), Specific Gravity (SG), pH, Microalbumin (MA), Creatinine (CR), Vitamin C (VC) and Calcium (Ca), etc.
BM URI 500 urine analyzer is in vitro diagnostic device (IVDD) for professional use.

Principle:
The analyzer measures change in reflectance of the reagent strip pads. A detector integrated in the system is composed of a light source and a light receiver, the light from which goes through the spherical integrator and reflect s at the reagent pads on the strip. The absorbance (and reflectance) varies according to the color of the reagent pads. The darker the reagent pad is, the higher the absorbance is, and less light is reflected. Conversely, the lighter the reagent pad is, the lower the absorbance is, and more light is reflected; i.e. the degree of color development is proportional to the concentration of an analyte in urine.The reflected light goes into the optical electronic detector system, which transforms the optical signal into electrical signal. The strength of the electricity correlates with reflectance. Then the electric signals will be processed by CPU after being transformed by I/V converter, and the test results can be printed out by printer.
