Have a Gendex HF 30 Generator that will not switch over from large to small focal spot. Model number of generator is 110-0120G17. Switch ohms out good. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you have schematics? Dose the console indicate small spot has been selected? I don't have the console schematics at the moment but I do have them. DS14 on the power unit mother board will lite if small FS is selected. FS select comes from the console as serial data to the memory program bd 124-0030 pin 2, it is decoded and leaves on pin Y(high is lg fs) to pin 19 on ma/rotor bd 124-0032. It leaves on pin W(H=Lg spot) and leaves the mother board on pin X. I believe it goes to the I/O board pin B and drives the focal spot select relay K1 (H=LG spot). I'll have to dig up console drawings if the problem is at the console side. Send me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do.
Check dip sw sw2-6 on console bd, it should be closed tying u40 pin 9 and C64 high, fs sw pulls it low through R71 100k, u40 inverter out put is pin 8 going to nand gate u39 pin 8, out pin 10 to u40 inverter pin 5 out pin 6. it get a little complex after that. I would check all of the switch connections on dip sw 2, several are involved.
