NovaFlux received FDA 510(k) clearance for its ClearFlux™ Dialyzer Reprocessing System in November 2010. The ClearFlux™ System is based on the NovaFlux IP-protected two-phase flow technology which is expected to revolutionize dialyzer reprocessing. The FDA-cleared Indications for Use state that "[the ClearFlux™] uses the in-situ two-phase cleaning process which recovers the total cell volume and the clearance of small and middle molecules of the dialyzers to levels that are approximately equivalent to those of new dialyzers." The ClearFlux™ sets new standards in the field because of its ability to deliver approximately equivalent clearances to those of new dialyzers. The ClearFlux™ has multiple inherent advantages since it eliminates manual pre-cleaning, can deliver 40 reuses and can save considerable labor costs compared to current dialyzer processing methods. In addition, the ClearFlux™ will offer reduced costs per treatment and will result in a substantial decrease in medical waste.
