Acuson 128XP problem, Code+Shift+V+Test not working

Hi,
I have found out that the battery of the CVC board are drained. I also got the encryption string from seimens already. However, I can not access the menu to input the strings.
The Code+Shift+V+Test can not work. I have also verified the functionality of each keys. Only the "Test" key have I doubted. Is it really correct that upon pressing only the Test button, a letter "U" appears on the screen?
Kindly advise me for any possible reason of this. Thanks a lot.
