I ve got an Acuson 128XP/10 that has a software problem, when switched on it displays message, "software sonopack is not licenced for this transducer" this unit has been working for 16 months only.
You have, probably, lost your encryption strings due to a problem in the CVC batteries.
To solve this, first you need to change the batteries, and then re-enter the encryptions.
You have to enter in the setup (after powering the system, after all the tests, when you can see the probe image on the screen hit CODE+SETUP)
Look for a option named DATE&TIME...
Then you just have to set it right...
You can replace it with any 3-3.9V batteries, like battery on computer mother board.and then you can input encryption strings,if you don't have this code,I can help you to get it at cost $600.normally,you can get it from Siemens if you bought the system from Acuson.
Typical failure due to loss of "encryption codes".
Usually caused by the loss of 2, 3.9v batteries on the CVC board.
Replace the batteries, re-enter the codes (hope you have them) and you are fixed.

This is because the date keep battery is over. You need to replace them and enter code again.
