Acuson Sequoia error 1-0-3

Hi we have a Sequoia 512 that we are having a problem with. It will start the boost sequence and state the software level of 9.51. After that It will go into service mode and say system error 1-0-3. I couldn't find error codes in our service manual. Any help would be appreciated.

Howdy Zach,
That error means that both covers were removed without Third Party Service being a Feature that is enabled. This might indicate a PIC failure. Try reloading software.

That error pops up because there is a magnetic Hall effect sensor on the right side cover that gets switched when the cover is removed on a system without the Third Party Service feature. It must be an old revision of software and have a PIC1 board in it. You will need to reload software using the MO disk with the system software. You can get it from Siemens, and they don’t charge much for the software installation disk. The minimum revision for a Sequoia is 7.2. They may ask you for the system serial number, although the disk will work on any Sequoia.
