ACUSON XP128 Problem error #6
March 08, 2019 10:23
Hi, I have an xp128 acuson with the following problem. when switching on, it displays error 6 in the displa 7 segment and turns off. I connect a bridge to w2 to detect what may be happening, the ultrasound turns on,and after boot then the screen appears watered with strange characters but in the background you can see the image of the transducers ... pressing the keys test + code + shift + v - a clean menu appears without those strange characters .. what can be those strange characters? question .. what could be error # 6 in the 7 segments display of of the power supply? data to keep in mind .. 2 years ago the echograph was not used..
Thanks in advance.

From Acuson 128XP10 manual: "These codes are displayed on the numeric LED in the back right corner of the power supply drawer.
Note If the LED indicates a failure, there are usually other symptoms that indicate another problem, such as
total system power-up failure. Investigate the other symptoms before assuming a power supply failure.
Error Code - Translation
1 - Low AC Line Voltage (below 95VAC)
2 - Low 300V Bus (below 250VDC)
3 - High 300V Bus (above 360VDC)
4 - Scan Converter Power Supply Failure
5 - Power Supply Drawer Overtemperature or Fan Failure
6 - Scanner Overtemperature or Fan Failure
7 - Scan Converter Overtemperature
8 - Scanner Digital 5V Power Supply Fault
9 - Scanner Low Voltage Power Supply Fault"
First check the fans...

If all fans are working properly then check PDB2, fan driver boards, temperature sensors. Perhaps for two years of inactivity, the contacts of the connectors oxidized ?

I'm glad the reason is found in the battery.)

Hello Carlos!
Error #6
Possibly causes:
- Scanner fan turning too slow or stopped
- Scanner temperature over 65 C
- faulty PDB 2

Thanks Marko !!!
- Scanner fan turning too slow or stopped (Fan are ok working)
- Scanner temperature over 65 C.. (Error # 6 appears immediately after turning on the ultrasound. in cold state)
-faulty PDB 2 ?? maybe this ?
a tip.. the echograph worked perfectly, it was put on standby for 2 years. after these more than 2 years it was turned on to use it and these symptoms appear.
