I'm having trouble to comunicate the Advantx system with the DLX-3 module, Not aquisition ready indicator on the DLX flat panel. The service manual direct me to run a test for GEIM board of the DLX, using a GELOOP CABLE, that I don't have, to connect it between two BNC conectors. Does anyone know if that GELOOP cable is just a short coaxial cable? Or it's a special one?

hi, I think you have a problem with the nvram of mvme167.Is this the original problem? I mean, have you reload dlx software, or have you replaced the vmme167?
You have to check the boot of nvme167
Several things to check. One is there may be a double termination on the coaxial network cable. Put a bnc T connector at one port and measure, with system off, the ohmic value seen at the open side of the T connector. It should be 50 ohms. less means douible terminated somewhere. you should be able to chase it down by sequencely removing eash bnc coas cable one at a time.
second, the Adv E kernal module has an auto termination built into the front panel bnc connector. It is a POS. It can cause an unterminated condition at the Adv E box. test that by putting a terminator on the outside of the box and see how it behaves, or with system off, measure the ohmic value there. 50 ohms ok, other not so much. leaving the outboard terminator on the front precludes closing the large cabnet door. I used to open the kernal box and remove the mini coas from the front bnc with the self termination and add ther terminator resistor internally on the end of the coas, under/behind the kernal pannel. At least that what I feel your problem sounds like.At least if my memory serves after about 20 years! Good luck!
Still cannot comunicate!! I checked the VME167, all passed. Measured the 50 Omh at BNC connectors, in fact, I got 18 Ohm, I removed avery connector at a time, and all others than the ASC at once, but only at this time I got the 50 Ohms.
"The DX node is offline" message is given in diagnostics and service mode when trying to connect with the DLX unit.
Thank you all guys! Problem solved. The fiber optic cables that carry the GE Bus were badly labeled and misconnected. I just swapped them, and bingo! The blue to grey, the grey to blue and worked fine!
