AMX 4 Test Failure

AMX 4 Test Failure

September 27, 2008 01:32

Have AMX 4 with error At turn on I get.
Test 1
test 2 failure
test 3 failure
Then display goes blank. I found one bad battery at 5 v. charged on trickle charger to 12. 5 volt quickly went back to 5.5 v. after reinstall.
I have a good battery I will try next trip down.
My question is Can this one bad battery cause my loss of display? Or do I have multiple problems.
Get display failure with service switch in either mode?
Return to site 10/1 to install good battery and try to get unit operating.
When all new batterys were installed 2 months ago.
Cal went great and system functioned ok with no errors.
Thanks Dan

I had a very similar problem as you are having and I corrected it by replacing all batteries in the unit. Then performing the calibration again. If you checked all the batteries and found one bad, I'd replace it first. You might want to check the current draw on all the batteries too.

James, also inspect the battery compartment and make sure you don't have a skinned wire.
