I got problems when I tried to install AW42 software on a HP xw8000, I Install both discs GEHC OS for AW 4.2_07 however when finish shows:
cold_instalation login:
password:
I use:'root' & 'operator'
then ask me AW disk but I just have 2 disc and no one of them can be used here.
Do I need something else? or Im doing something wrong?

Ok, It's been a few years since I have worked on a GE AW4.2 but a few important issues I remember. Before the SW load, login as sdc, password adw4.2, don't login as root! The system will not operate. I believe you must also configure the system to run Linux and not the default OS, windows. Hope that helps.
Only problem is that you do not have complete software CDROM set. First 02 CD's are for OS only. You need AW4.2 Application CD part no. 5124251-3 AW4.2_06 S/W or 5124251-4 AW4.2_07 S/W to install Application Software.
I can give you Service manual or Software CD's if you need. Also I can help you on license key's as well.

You need the software key, you can find in a backup (if you have) if not I think the software doesn´t work.
