Boot/Video problem with Philips iU22 - help please?

October 08, 2014 09:33

Hi All,

Have a Philips iU22 system that is not booting up. When originally checked it would boot to domain 32 then black screen with error '518'. Subsequent attempts I get nothing - 'no video input' on main screen, no BIOS beeps at power-up. Coin cell is fine, video cable is fine, all internal connections ok. Philips engineer suggests UMB or Host HDD faulty - UMB itself over $25,000! Can't get error logs as unit won't boot and obviously software reinstall is not an option (don't have it anyway).

Any ideas, or anyone come across this before?

Any help much appreciated.

Best Regards,
Scott

Scott Summit Imaging would be glad to help, have you tried booting the system with a front end bypass yet? The Error 518 is typically a down UMB but a front end board could be the cause of this issue. That being said an exchange UMB from us would be way less costly and include all software and support.

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried to boot with a front end bypass, but will give this a go. Thanks for the offer of help - unfortunately I'm in Vanuatu, but if that's not a problem, let me know.

This unit is in a private doctors clinic and I have a day job so might take a while to check.

Thanks again,

Scott, that error shows imaging processor domain fail, you could bypass the front end, also if you have a video card issue something like this may happens.
Check if you have a back up of the options before trying to reload any software.
