There are two things needed in order to operate a transducer on the Acuson XP and Aspen systems. The microcode for that transducer must be installed on the Memex board, and the software must be enabled by the proper encryption codes. On the 128XP, you can see the transducers that are enabled by following this procedure:
1. Depress and hold the Test, Code, Shift and V keys (Test is under the monitor behind the little door).
2. Use Trackball or keyboard to highlight 102 from the menu. Use Softkey to enter Select This will display the current Configuration.
3. Use Softkey to enter Page to get to list of transducers that are enabled. (There may be more than one Page.)
If the C7 is listed, then the microcode may be missing or it could be a connector problem on the transducer.
Dear Mr. Mondeshki:
Each Acuson system has software licenses to run the probes. If your system is not licensed to run a particular probe you will get the message that you saw. Find out about paying for a license to run the probe.

The software for the operation of the C7 probe has not been installed, you would have to install the correct software to operate this probe.
