Hello Usman,
I'm not directly familiar with the system You're having this problem onto, but it seems to me like we're talking about an SGI computer (maybe O2 or Octane?).
What I can tell You is that is telling You You don't even have the device You're trying to boot from. Maybe You took that boot command from some manual wich is not related to the exact model of system You're working on. My advice is You have a look at the devices available on Your system.
In order to do so, when You switch on the system and the computer is trying to autoboot, stop it by pressing the "ESC" key; this way You should be presented a menu, from wich You should click on the "Command Monitor" (if I remember well); once You're into it (You should see some sort of "DOS Box", let's call it so) type "hinv" (without the quotes, of course) and press enter.
You should now see the hardware configuration of Your computer, similar to this:

CPU: MIPS R5000 Processor Chip Revision: 2.1
FPU: MIPS R5000 Floating Point Coprocessor Revision: 1.0
1 180 MHZ IP32 Processor
Main memory size: 128 Mbytes
Secondary unified instruction/data cache size: 512 Kbytes on Processor 0
Instruction cache size: 32 Kbytes
Data cache size: 32 Kbytes
FLASH PROM version 4.17
Integral SCSI controller 0: Version ADAPTEC 7880
Disk drive: unit 1 on SCSI controller 0 (unit 1)
CDROM: unit 4 on SCSI controller 0
Integral SCSI controller 1: Version ADAPTEC 7880
On-board serial ports: tty1
On-board serial ports: tty2
On-board EPP/ECP parallel port
CRM graphics installed
Integral Ethernet: ec0, version 1
Iris Audio Processor: version A3 revision 0
PCI Adapter ID (vendor 36868, device 32888) pci slot 1
PCI Adapter ID (vendor 36868, device 32888) pci slot 2
Video: MVP unit 0 version 1.4
with no AV Card or Camera.
Vice: TRE

What You're looking for is probably the CDROM line; in my example, it reports I have a CDROM unit with ID 4, linked on the controller n°0. This way, Your boot line would become the following:

boot -f dksc(0,4,8)sashARCS dksc(0,4,7)stand/fx.ARCS --x

Hope this can help You out in any way. Please feel free to contact me at technosystems_srl@libero.it , should You need any further assistance.
Best regards,
Ivano Murat

Hi Farhan, how you solve the problem?, I had similar problem, I used new HDD from 3rd party, I heard if we buy HDD from GE will no problem ,cause already initialize and formated, I read on SGI webs, that we need "fx" tools to do that but how we can get that?.thanks
