Case 1:
A Qxi has a problem we haven't found a solution: It only give images 4x1.25 mm
In:
Axial, 4x2.5mm 2 images are good the other 2 are black, no data.
Helical 4 x 2.5mm, only black images
the rest helical 3.75mm and 4x 5mm no images
Axial 1x5mm image ok
No errors or cautions or messages from the CT
IG plus DARC Jarrel
Tests:
DARC: DIP test OK
Scan data path; OK
Recon data path: OK
LFC done ok
Fast Cals ok.
Enclosed 1A, 2A, 1B, 2B Views versus Channels
What is the failure of this CT?
Case 2: Another Qx1 that give an intermittent error that shows a hardware error and stops scanning.
The main error is Communication lost between OBC and STC
We have changed:
STC: RPSCOM, CPU
RING: Power and data Brushes, 50 ohm board and brushes, I/F board at the signal brushes, internal to the ring IF board that connects to OBC.
OBC: RCOM, CPU, I/O board
Console: BNC cable from gantry to console, Converter BNC to 10 BASE T to Ethernet 100 base T
What can be the problem with this CT?
Case 1, the DARC had corrupted HDs. Even with the LFC. We cloned the HDs from a different system and worked OK!
Case 2, Speed problems, the Gantry wasn't fast enough to perform 0.8 segs. The axial belt was in bad shape and we loosen it a bit away from specs. The gantry has been greased 3 months before.

About the communication issue:
You almost have replaced everything.
I once had a problem like it and it was the console ground cable being loose.
Check your grounds and also power supplies values and ripple.
