Hello, can someone tell me what is the thickness of lead used in shielding the room of a 128-slice CT scanner? The room dimensions are 14.6 feet (4.45m) x 23.6 feet (7.18m). Thank you
In general, a lead shielding of 2mm thickness should suffice.
However, it is recommended to check and comply with your local regulatory authorities if they have any specific guidelines regarding this.
2 mm eq Pb , coukd be less, depending on thickness and materials of the walls.
Height should be 2 m or more depending of the rooms/areas floor levels level with respect to scan room.
Take into account the radiation curves of the ct.
