We have a Hologic QDR, and the computer crashed. We changed the computer, installed the Hologic card into the new motherboard. I installed the Hologic software, but the computer is not recognizing a driver for the Hologic card. The "Found New Hardware" message pops up for "Other PCI Bridge Device", but I can't find a driver on any of the discs that it will accept to communicate with the machine. If anyone can please help, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Hello, can you help me please to change the slot number in the RTX PNP and power management device, I have to put 2 but has number 3 and I don't know how I can change. My email rahp82@gmail.com
Thanks
The message most likely has nothing to do with the Hologic but rather the Windows software. Did you install XP Pro? The driver should be on that disk. The software for the ComCon PCB is the VenturCom RTX driver. It must be installed prior to the ComCon PCB and requires that you have the PAC.
Thanks Desmond,
I removed the card and reinstalled all the software (at least I thought I did). I am getting a window popping up that says "QDR - Error. DOWNLOAD failed - can't access HOLXCOM driver". I thought I installed everything right. Is it the order I'm installing the software? Or is there an installer program I need to know about?
How do I "reserve" IRQ 10? Is there something special that needs to be done to make sure the driver is installed correctly? Is there a special order that the software and drivers need to be installed? Is there a secret about the driver installer? I've reinstalled multiple times, and I can't get around the "can't access HOLXCOM driver" error.
IRQ 10 is set in the BIOS to ISA or PCI 2. The BIOS is selected at boot by entering setup. Some mother boards do not let you set IRQ 10 and don't have an ISA slot. I always use the Intel D865 PERL (P4) for the PCI motherboard and the ASUS CUV4X (P3) for the ISA.
This order: Set IRQ 10 to ISA or PCI 2 depending on which ComCon PCB you have, load RTX set to run at boot, install ComCon PCB, load HOLX, load software, load latest system backup.
Also, I want to make sure I'm choosing the correct machine type. The arm says Discovery QDR series, and the sticker on the back says QDR 4500C/W. I've been trying to install it as QDR 4500 systems, then 4500C. Is this right?
The QDR 4500 can be upgraded to Discovery and usually has a tank cover label that has the word UPGRADE on it. If it has been upgraded to Discovery that is the software you should use however when you install the last system backup the software should let you know if it is wrong. The software for a Discovery started in 2003 with 12.0. If you don't need the whole body option it will not hurt the system to run as a C.

if the driver is installed correctly you just need to reserve the IRQ 10 for the ComCon card.

HOLXCOM is not RTX. It is found on the software disk in the Drivers/HolxRtss&Permission folder. It must be installed prior to the software.

Does it matter when the RTX drivers are installed? (In relation to the other software)
