Hi everyone!
I need to know if i can use Solaris 2.5.1 sold in market instead of Solaris sold by GE as part number 2211863 to completely re-install the DLX application
Software that GE uses from Solaris is licensed to GE and because of that I suspect it is or has specific code to match GE's request to work with GE's software (DLX). It may also be hardware specific, matched to the Sun Workstation model, to operate network cards, etc.
Jumpstart customizes the operating system.I think it´s very hard to install the dlx soft without it.

i followed the complete software installation procedure provided in the service manual using jumpstart floppy, but it did not install or ask me for the DLX cd,
i installed the dlx manually,
and i get tens of database errors

they provide you software Installed Hard disk
or visit a place where the machine is already installed and in working operate the machine run the software then u be able to under stand the function of that
