GE CT Lightspeed plus ( scanning hardware reset failed)

Dear all,
the system failed to rest the hardware and bring out the next error 184128,244518,178574 with The following controllers failed to report initialization status in 120 seconds: OBC.on error 178574.
ping STC and ETC are ok.
ping OBC not respond.
when the scanning hardware reset failed the gantry
display go blank.
any suggestion i will apreciate.

Swap the obc and stc. Before installing the boards make sure you change the dip switch settings on each boards. The switches are very small and hard to see. If the switches are not set correctly the system will not recognize the boards.

Dear Steve,
when application is down all node OBC, STC and ETC respond to ping; when application go up and scanning hardware reset failed and Gantry diplay go blank with 3 green dots, OBC not respond to ping and stc and etc are ok to ping.
I swap OBC's CPU and LSCOM with STC without any change. I also set the DIP switch for normal config when I swap.

After you swapped the obc and stc, did you run the flash download tool to flash the controllers? If not, run the flash download update and monitor the download window.

i faced a similler trouble before and the solution was very strange
i removed the small 45 plug from the intercom board at the back of the ice box
I red that there is serial line go paralel with the network line
the source of the serial line is the digi board it could be bad

Hello Alain,
Please check Slip Ring Diss-connect status in Service Home page if it's showing high with values in Red then you have Dirty Slip Rings which needs to be cleaned. Also sometimes if we have any of DAS Converter board failed or other DAS Processing Board fails then also it makes OBC to stop communicating. Check both of these conditions and read error log in details thoroughly from start of problem start date/time. You have more clues on problem causes.

thanks for your reply
I check the slip ring and also cleaning it, but the problem still same, I also bypass the data connection from stc to obc it still same.
I took all board(CPU, LSCOM, Gentry I/O, KV control, HEMRC and MA control) from the obc and check it to another system, all board are ok.
I now thinking about Das convertor board how should I check it when I couldn't reset the scanning hardware? any process to do that?

You can perform a hard reboot. Shute the computer down then turn the power supply of or circuit breaker off, waite a few seconds then turn the circuit breaker back on then power up the computer. That helps some times.

I also recommend that you check the slip rings for dust. I have had to correct this problem after cleaning the slip rings.

I had this problem once, to solve it i polished the slipring and realigned the carbons... Worked like a charm...
