we have a ct/i ct scan with an octane system with irix 6.5 operating system. this is with a 3.5MHu tube, a G5 collimator and E-Das filter boards.
we are encountering a problem that during fast cal and detailed calibration it will pop up an error of "fastcal calibration error, please exit and retry" or "detailed calibration error". Tube warm up is ok it will finish the process... When we try to scan it will shows a series of ring artifacts...
To solve the problem... we first get the sbc and scan disk in the console for a known good machine but it did not solve the problem.. we also try parts from a known good machine like the octane system, ig board, vme, bit3 and fep boards but the problem is still the same, it cannot do the fastcal.. the next thing we do it replace all the filter boards which include the adc boards and all the boards in cage 1 and 2. this boards are known good parts, but when we try it the problem still the same... then we replace the collimator and align it but the problem still there it cannot do fatscal and detailed calibration..
can someone help us where the problem is coming from? most of error it shows that the primary receiver is not in service or the event router is out of service..
TRY CHECK YOUR SLIP RINGS MUST BE CLEAN, CHECK BRUSHES,CHECK THE FIBER OPTIC FROM THE GANTRY TO THE OC.

I think you should first reconstruct image use good raw data,if the image is good, you should check the DAS by data.
Best regards.
