GE Definium 5000 boot problem

Can someone help me .The definium 5000 computer which is HP magic does not boot the computer.when I tried to install the Linux SW ,there are many commands for that-command (magma) or command (GEHC) or (iGEHC)...etc what is the correct command.It works sometime,but then I can not load the Application SW or it says that the applicatins are successfully loaded ,but I can not use the files or they are not at the Desctop at all.What are the corect way and commands for loading booth he Linux and the applications .The system has been upgraded last year .
