GE Logiq e corrupt system file
August 10, 2016 03:31
I have a GE Logiq e that is giving a system file corrupt error on boot up. I have a system software disk that came with the system, but it will not boot from that. Do I need a windows disk to get this repaired? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am a BMET from Boston who has relocated to Haiti for a little while to help with equipment issues.

The better idea is get the booting files from another working windows pc. An them get a live system and run that and Replace the old files

Hi, Thomas!
It should boot from there, even using a common USB-ODD. Maybe, the BIOS is set to boot from HDD. On the first screen press F2 to reach the BIOS setup. Leave PWD Windows blank and Press ENTER. Go to Boot section and make USB CDROM as first booting device.
Plug a USB-DVDRW, insert the Installation DVD into it, and try booting again.
In the installation screen, choose the Partition C only, instance, to preserve data and presets untouched.
Let us know, please, if it got succeeded, ok?
God Bless you and the people of Haiti.
Kind regards,
MAC.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I found the system CD and with a power down and load CD everything fixed itself.
