GE PRESTIGE SI PROBLEMS

We have the following problem with a prestige SI: Sometimes and if the radiography is splitted in 2, 3 etc parts the one part of the image overlays the other one for some cm. We had the same exactly problem 1 year and half ago. We replaced the potentiometer of the internal diaphragms and it was working without problems up to yesterday. The parts were original and came directly from GE. They told us that we had to upgrade the servo system for the internal diaphragms (motor, potentiometer and the base) and we done it. But exactly one year and a half later we received exactly the same problem. Is this a problem with any Prestige SI? Is it something that we can do better? Is it something else that it may cause this problem? Thank you in advance

Hy Alexander:
I don't know de GE system but all them are similars in its operation. Remember that the same symptom may be caused by: diafragms, chassis servo position control, auto colimator mis adjusted, fluctuating PS, etc.
You need to isolate the cause to reach the root of the problem.
Have all the exposures the right wide? YES: The diafragms are ok. The problem may be servo of chassis tray.
Does the center exposition well centered on the film? NO: chassis tray servo problem sure. YES: diafragms problems.
IS the overlap the same for all the expositions? YES: Diafragm contrls problems. NO: Chassis tray servo.
Also you must check if there are fluctuations on PS that reach the refference potentiometer or comparators circuit board. A fluctuation of voltage will cause this problem. A deffective op amp may cause the same fail.
If the problem is intermitent, check cables. May be a deffecive cable or connector that move when you move the board or the table.
