I have a GE Vivid 7 System that's making a beep noise after is being on for a while and then it shuts down, after I live it off for a while it turns on fine, please help.
Thanks in advance
Hi Marcelo,
Thanks for the info, one more question can I take the motherboard's battery out without damaging any BIOS or other configuration?
Thanks in advance and God Bless you too!!
Yes you can remove the motherboard, but don't remove the battery, yet.
Measure the voltage without dettaching it. If the battery is good (3,3 to 3,0 VDC), leave it there, and make all the necessary maintenance, reattaching memories and processor, replacing thermal paste, etc.
If you see battery is low, you must replace it, because it could be the cause of failure you mentioned.
But, have in mind you might need to be prepared to reload the BIOS, and this action, will probably, be made using BIOS blaster CD for yours BEP version, and sometimes won't, just a "load GE defaults" could be enough.
Check the system cooling fans and the air flow filters they are probably full of dust and your Vivid 7 is overheating because of lack of cool air then when its off and cools down it starts again. hope this helps you
Hi Tomas it is overheating and shutting down. check the fans and the air cooling filters inside and any externals they are more than likely dusty which means no cool air flow. Once it has cooled down it restarts until it heats again

Hi, Tomas!
Check BEP integrity. It seems PC doesn't start, beep's "trying" to say something was not found, eg, Video, Memories, HDD, BIOS lost.
Make a deep Preventive Maintenance in it, reattaching all boards, and check the motherboard's BIOS battery for correct voltage.
Hope this helps, take care, God Bless.

hi, i suggest the bios battery replacement.
it will not ruin your bios programing while changing the battery.
