I substituted the Cmos battery on a GE Voluson 730 Pro due to incorrect date and time.
Now the system does not boot up.All that appears on the screen is a flickering cursor.
I have set the date and time.
What could be the problem?
The BIOS configuration was deleted, you have to enter to BIOS Configuration (password is Rudi)and check it, i Have pictures from a BIOS, send me a email. I can speak Spanish.
computer doesn't see the boot sector on the drive its trying to boot from,see the boot order in bios, also see if all the important hardware (CD, hard drive,...) is recognized by the system. Do you have service manual, if I remember there is a bios setup page, if you don't have I can send you advanced service manual (for free) just email me on j_veljko@yahoo.com

I have same problem lost memory for all BIOS setting (day and time) when turn off system over night and needs to go BIOS setting the day and time every time in the morning. Please let me know what kind battery it is and is it on the SBC board? I didn't open this system before and would you mind send me the advance service manual to me. I great appricate your help.

For five volts the voltage range should be 4.6Vmin,5.6Vmax&12.6V-11.6for twelve volts

Because your CMOS battery run out. So, after change CMOS battery you must re-setting configuation parameter for SBC. You said on screen have a flicking cursor because you SBC finding boot device ( ex: CD-ROM, A Drive, SCSI driver...). You must reconfig it to boot order is: HDD-0 First.
If not OK, you must check your HDD
I recently replaced the cr2032 CMOS battery on the computer board and found my system hung up on boot. After hitting control. Alt and delete at the same time I got the bios menu and changed the date and the system booted normally. As others have stated check all devices in theses bios menus for proper configuration.
