It seems like this Error message 6503 is pretty common. I just encountered this problem on both of my ECG machines & would greatly appreciate if anyone could mail me a copy of the reboot disk.
Unzip the file and there are 2 files contained:
PagewriterXLS.exe
PagewriterXLI.exe
Run the appropriate file on a computer with a floppy disk drive, putting a blank diskette in the drive.
The program will create a bootable HP diskette.
Remove the diskette, put it in your HP and boot it up, and it should solve your problem.
Don't forget to replace the battery in the HP - It is the cause of the error message.

Put in floppy with correct software then turn on unit. follow instructions on lcd display
