FAULT 89
TUBE AIR PRESSURE INSUFFICIENT, IDENTICAL TO ERROR 88
ERROR 88
FAN AIR PRESSURE INSUFFICIENT; IF THE FANS ARE TURNING AND HTE COVERS ARE ON THE TRANSDUCER HAS FAILED, CABLING HAS FAILED OR A/D PROBLEM EXISTS ON PROCESSOR BOARD (UNLIKELY)
LIKELY FAN IS OUT OR COVERS ARE NOT IN PLACE DURING TESTING.
code 89:TUBE AIR PRESSURE INSUFFICIENT.
if the fans are turning, and the cover are on,then either the Pressure transduce has failed, there is a cabling problem or an A/D problem exist on the Processor board
FYI, this has nothing to do with the fans on the front of the amp. If they turn is not relevant to an 89 fault. the blower is an internal part that is not visible with covers on.
It happened to me several times that removing the sensor and washing it with isopropanol alcohol removed the error. You have to slide out the amp - disconnect all cables at the rear. When you open. the left cover you'll see the small grey plastic piece iwith 2 cables n the botto right.
This is not a recommended practice. this typically shorts the sensor and overrides the air air flow protection that was intended to keep your RF tubes from burning up. The sensors are inexpensive, we will sell you a new one so you don't risk tube damage.
I did not suggest to remove the sensor (I am pretty sure, the amp checks both OFF and ON states) but to clean the sensor with IPA and put it back. It works.
The amp only know if that is open or short, short is the "Air is fine" condition. IF this sensor shorts there is no protection for the air pressure and the amp will not know.

89 is an air pressure fault in the PA cavity. Likely either the Blower fan is bad or the pressure sensor itself.

89 fault is a PA air pressure error. The likely suspects are the Blower and the pressure sensor.
