We have a mobile Hitachi 7000 MRI that is going to be used as a fixed site.
The facility is about to prepare the site with support pads for it's final position.
We are considering to prepare support pad for trailer
on reinforced concrete basis, which will contain iron
armature. I am concerned if the iron armature will
affect the magnetic field of MRI and consequently have influence on the quality of image.
If anyone has had experience with any situation like ours could you make a suggestion.
All answers are highly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
The steel in the support pads should not have an effect on the shim of the magnet. If you want, you can substitute fiberglas reinforcement bars instead of steel. This will ensure 100% that the site and pads are no culprits to shimming problems.
It will effect the shimming of magnet but depends how big iron pad are you using. The safe way is to use fiber pads. In case of iron you will have to check the shimming of magnet.
hi baron
you can use but after that you have do magnet shimming according to amount of iron you using.
if you idea about that you can go through with that.

it will not effect the magnet if iron inforced blocks are out side the trailer.
