OEC 9800 ISSUE

November 28, 2015 07:18

I have a unique problem. The OEC 9800 Plus will continue to give exposure indications after releasing the footswitch, handswitch or xray switch. Beeping and indication of xray but no actual image. System does not display any errors and when RUT/RUS is reviewed no error messages. Xray controller has been replaced and worked fine for 1 month. All leds and conditions appear normal. I have tried changing the Fluoro Function board, the PS1 and the footswitch. No change in conditions. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is a pretty common issue. Measure on the display control board top of vertical lift dog house tp3 to chassis ground the +5vdc supply is low (close to 4.85) reseat the connectors on and from Ps1 in carm. If needed increase +5 but do not exceed 5.25vdc out of supply using r51

Itis now a week later and the issue has raised its ugly head again. I changed the PS! power supply and adjusted the doghouse voltage to +5.14 vdc. There are no error messages and I tried it for over an hour and a half with no issue. The unit has been used this week but late Friday the condition of apparent continuos exposure (xray on light and beeping) but no image occurred again. Symptoms indicate a stuck footswitch. My documentation and information seems like the xray controller and or the PS1 would be obvious but has not resolved the issue. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

it is possible the X-ray controller but I would first rule out the possibility of a frayed wire, are you seeing any errors logged around the same time frame that might help?

Check the 5 volt supply on PS1 in the c-arm. Make sure the voltage is 5.2 volts. Also, make sure the connectors are making good contact on both the power supply and the board that it feeds. You may need to replace the supply if the problem persists.

be sure to check the Connector at the +5Vdc supply. I have had two different units that have bad crimp on the wires. The wire easily pulled out of the connector. Had to repair the connection. RED Wires
