OEC 9800 problem
January 24, 2012 09:10
Hi
I have a problem with OEC 9800, 3 months before, We had mA on error and low mA error. Recalibrated null adjustment and Filament calibration. But we experienced error when doing Filament calibarion and showed ' filament current can not reach the requirwd level' it happened couple of times. We replaced battery set and HV regulator board. Calibrated the Null adjustment on new HV regulator board. now intermittently mA on error coming.. please direct me what is the caiuse of problem..
Many Thanks

I'd be very suspicious of the cable harness from the C-arm base to the tube/collimator and II/CCTV. I think there are a couple of extra wires in the harness that you may be able to use if you find a flaky wire. Last thing would possibly be the x-ray tube itself.

I am fairly new to the oec 9800 but had to through my two cents in. I would look at the "gib" board .let me know when you get it

Check the HV cable ends for arcing or flakey wires, regrease and tighen. The other fellow also had a good idea about a partially broken wire in the cable harness running from the base up through the C which is also HV cable is to the tube.
Once you've exhaused all/everyones suggestions start suspecting the tube itself. You've replaced/calibrated a lot of logical things already

I had a similar MA error that was very intermittent. I went through just about the same process you did and finally I concluded that the resister divider in the high voltage tank was the cause. It took some courage to order such an expensive part but when I replaced the HV tank the problem never returned. I assume you tried reseating the cannon plug that connects to the top of the HV tank.

replace your filament boards. mA errors are mainly caused by filament board malfunction.

There is a adjustment called the Ramp Peak Voltage adjustment--it must be 3.8 vdc---do this with a scope on TP57 on the HVSR.
