I don't think there's really an off-the-shelf software application that wiil do what you want for managing parts. Access will work for a database, but you'll want to use something you can expand on to included reports, post pictures to the web, etc. I could build this for you into an web based application that would help grow and grow with your business. It's not more than what one would expect to pay for a good app.
Hello to all this program you requested was created long ago by a company called Source One Solutions (the original) in 1992 and due to lack of interest or industry awareness of the power of the internet the company closed in 1996. The reason I am aware of this is myself and two other partners started this company. It is comforting to see now someone recognizes the need at this time. Though a bit late if you look at the OEM and some ISO you can see they have adapted this concept to there web sites although only for there products. I only wish such foward thinking was arround when we were promoting the product and concept.
DOTmed is considering writing an interface that would allow you to keep track of your parts inventory and display it on the site. If we created such a program, how many of you would be interested? Please advise.
YES!!! I will be interested. It will be the evolution of Part Hunter because we can see directly the availability of the parts we are looking for. Everyone of us can see how competitive our price are and make the necesaary adjustememnts if we cinsideer it's needed.
What a waste of time. Do you really think a list of parts will help? I have all my parts on my website in 3 forms, Excel, HTML and Word. What the part buyers want is a person who knows what is going on and a good price. All the listing and data bases are nice but it will not help sales. Customers do not deal with parts list when they need a part. It is too much effort and takes too much time. I have been down this road several years ago, like Equipmentfinders.com and others. The list of parts will not help, look at all the tranactions in parts hunter so far. I see a problem with buyers who are not serious and waste a lot of time. The parts hunter record speaks for its self.

I want to know if anyone knows of an OFF The Shelf software to manage a medical parts business. Something like what junk yards use for car parts.

QMDpro has been handling this for JDI Solutions for years. It does parts tracking, RMAs, item history, pricing, billing and much, much more.
