There are a few items that can give you that problem, assuming that the motor was replace:
1)Encoder
2)Horizontal table control PCB
3)make sure the Footplates are not binding (the table release foot SW(the one with the black stripes)
The bearing are easy to check. Step on the table release and slide the table in and out. Does it move smoothly? Yes, the bearings are good. Does it do it at all table heights? Pinched/broken wires going from the base to the table top?
First lets look at the table motion with the system off -- does it glide smoothly the entire length of travel....and do you notice any difference with it LOADED and unloaded. This will answer any mechanical issues be it bearings or even possibly FRAME and RAIL issues (I have seen them get bent - easier to replace the entire couch).
Next (if we have new bearings and motor(would be my first thing to replace if not already) installed) then truly all we have left in the electrical arena, is the pot, encoder and clutch assembly.
The pot and encoder typically cause issues with getting lost and resetting the gantry - is any of that present along with the stutter?? If NO, and all bearings and motor are new, then clutch / brake assembly needs a closer look
IS THIS stutter a consistent thing or intermittent??
One other item to be aware of -- BELT tension can cause this anomaly -- belts wear and stretch, so travel would be just as you described.

Philips Brilliance 40 table problem
June 14, 2015 11:53
I have a Pihlips Brilliance 40 and the table is having some In/Out travel issues.
I can only describe it as a stutter or vibration. It happens with both manual travel and motorized but seems much more noticable when using the motor.
I just now noticed that it seems to be on the 0.5mm increments that you can get by pushing the button for a very short period.
The service guys came in and replaced the bearings and, I believe, the motor itself and the problem continues.
Any thoughts would be very welcome.

No idea what 1 and 2 are, Ill pass that along to the service guys.
Both the pedal and footplate seem to be fine to me...
Thanks

Its a little tight moving it manually, but smooth.
Yes, all table heights.
Not seeing anything, but will ask the service tech.

It is almost always the silicon coated worm gear on the patients right that causes the problems

Is that the thing that looks like a long screw? I asked the service guy about that and he shrugged it off...

Odd noise at the end of inward travel, but other than that, it is tight, but fairly smooth.
The only difference between loaded and unloaded is that the stutter is louder when empty.
I have noticed no problems with gantry shutdown/reset and Im assuming "lost" means table position problems? None of those either that I have seen.
Its constant.
Ill pass along the belt idea to the service guy.

Looks first any obstruction in your encoders, later check if all wiring are correct sometimes the communication will lost.
