Philips Gemini TF 64

June 06, 2014 10:04

Hi,

im working on Philips Gemini TF 64 system. And im having some problems with CIRS system (it contains 10 separate CIRS server's). Basicly 3 of CIRS started to restart them self without any obvius reason in last half a year. After checking everything with my local service support they suggested replacing servers becouse NIC-s dont function normaly. The price is pretty high so i tryed to check some thing's by myself. First i checked CIRS logs where i didnt find anything strange, the system worked fine but anyway i reinstaled OS, PET reconstruction software and One touch power up. That didnt help, so i ordered same motherboards with same onboard ethernet controlers (there are 2) from third party. After replacing old motherboards the problem was still same confusing, (meanwhile i changed also PSU after i found out 1 fan didnt work properly). After i start CIRS it goes everything fine until Ethernet cards are booting and adresses are checked, then it just shut's down. When i start CIRS without pluged cables in ethernet ports everything works fine. Even when just one ethernet port is pluged and other is not everything works ok, but same moment when i plug other ethernet port CIRS shut's down. Im all out of ideas becouse offical Philips CT specialist said it's for sure NIC-s and it doesnt look this way. I have same problem on my other site but with 2 CIRS servers, so i figure out thi's must be some known issue. I dont see any point ordering 3 whole new CIRS servers, and problem may be software issue. Pls can someone give advice or any kind of help.

Thank's in advance

Dear Senad;

Probabily you have a virus in your system, anyway, My recomendation is take one CIRS is working ok, and exchange hard disks with CIRS is not working properly, if you have the same problem then you have hardware problem, If not, you have software problem.
With me experience, it is normal find problem in PSU in this server but if you change PSU, try to exchange hard disk and sure you solve your doubt.

Best regards

Dear Jorge,

i will try what u recommended and msg results back. I must note that all 3 CIRS servers are working now ( for 4 days by now) but im using just 1 NIC the other i didnt even connect. And all 10 CIRS server's are reconstructing normal. Well i also didnt configure powerup thru PET aquisitor either, but it's not problem to start it manualy. The virus isn't possible becouse it's close system with no internet acces (just host-cirs connection) and i alrdy formated/reinstalled everything. Thank's for information, will check HDD. And yes on this CIRS units PSU and fan's are very often reason of problems, but i replaced them.

Best regards
